The Puberty, Environment, and Adolescent Resilience (PEAR) Lab is committed to fostering a collaborative, supportive, and intellectually stimulating research environment. We value curiosity, integrity, teamwork, and the development of the next generation of scientists and practitioners.

Graduate Students

Dr. Niu welcomes prospective graduate students who are interested in developmental psychology, adolescent mental health, and interdisciplinary research. Students with backgrounds in psychology, human development, public health, education, neuroscience, epidemiology, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Previous research experience is highly valued.

Graduate students in the PEAR Lab receive training in research design, scientific writing, data analysis, conference presentations, and grant development, while developing their own research interests within the lab’s collaborative environment.

Undergraduate Students

We welcome motivated undergraduate students who are interested in gaining research experience in developmental psychology and adolescent development.

• Previous research experience is not required.
• Undergraduate research assistants participate in ongoing projects, attend lab meetings, and receive mentorship in research methods and scientific communication.
• Students interested in pursuing an undergraduate thesis or independent research project with Dr. Niu are encouraged to work in the PEAR Lab for two semesters before pursuing this type of student-led project.
